I have been experimenting these days with a lot of different Genres and this has really helped me in discovering some different kind of books altogether with some unusual stories and distinct to the ones I have read so far throughout my reading journey. So, in my list of Genres, I have added this yet another Book with a story about Greed and Power and how one becomes sinister on encountering might. And as they say “Might is not always Right”. This is what the Book will teach you in the end. So let’s explore a little about the book to help you decide in picking this as your next read.🙂

A small princely state in Rajasthan is the last bastion of resistance against the might of the British Empire. While unrest surrounding the sudden death of the king of Devangarh grows, young prince Rudra Pratap Chauhan prepares to ascend the throne. But the kingdom is in turmoil. The Devangarh army is outnumbered and the British forces are closing in. To make matters worse, Rudra discovers the king’s death may not have been accidental after all.

As Rudra struggles to manage his new responsibilities and investigate his father’s death, dark secrets will be uncovered that will disrupt life as he knows it.

The story starts with some scene of mythological character Valikesh, one of the monkeys in the troop of Hanuman who fought against the evil Ravana in the Ramayana. And then switches to the historical land of Devangarh in Rajasthan ruled by the mighty Rajput King Ravindra Pratap Chauhan. The times are when the East India Company was trying to set the rule of the English and residents from the company were trying to persuade the King to come into allegiance with the British Kingdom. But the highly esteemed and valiant king considered it a coward step and did not settle for peace. The kingdom then standing on the verge of war.

The protagonist of the story, Rudra, the Crown Prince is about to fight the first battle of his life but meets with a deadlock when he finds his father lying burnt and dead. This death shatters him and the responsibilities of the entire kingdom fall on his naive shoulders. Not only this but the real turn in the story takes place when he finds out that his father did not die naturally but it was a blatant murder. This shook him to his core and he starts his mayhem journey, to find the real culprit.

Some of the hidden dark secrets lying dormant in the palace unveil and he comes across journals of his grandfather in the fort’s library. From here starts his battle to fight not the mortals but real, life-threatening supernatural powers who are trying to awaken the Tarikshir, whose evil force can destroy the entire universe.

“Who killed Ravindra Pratap Chauhan?”, the revelation will shock you in the end just like it did Rudra. You will see, how greed and hunger of power can taint the minds of the most determined and strong-willed.

There is a balanced shifting in the story from mythological to historical fiction and in between you will find mystery, suspense, thriller, action, darkness and some zombies.🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️

The author has well thought of and presented the story in a sorted manner. Although I found myself losing a little interest in the middle but then some twists and turns in the book kept me engage and I wanted to know the ultimate truth which kept me consumed in the book till the end.

I would recommend the book if you like Fiction involving supernatural elements. If you are a fan of Fantasy you will like the book and the story inside. Also, I want to mention that I found the antagonist to be equally evil and dark like “you-know-who” from the Harry Potter and I was actually scared by the hellish intents he contained inside.

I will stop my fingers by quoting some beautiful lines from the Book:

In war even though someone wins, everyone looses.”

Life will always throw difficulties at you, and when it is too much for you to overcome them alone, togehter you will conquer.”

When Khayaal Patel is not working on new stories set in Rudra’s exciting universe, he can be found reading comic books, watching movies, trying to figure out the secrets of the universe and indulging in his incredibly unhealthy addictio to anything chocolate. Khayaal lives in Dubai. This is his first novel.
