The first person who will live to be 150 years old has already been born.
The screen that we peer into will soon be within us.
We could soon be taking happiness pills before breakfast.
The perfect partner might need to be charged before bed.

This is a new world we are walking into. And the man who began this journey won’t be the man who ends this journey. Where Will Man Take Us? explores the changes technology is bringing about in us as a society and as a species. What will the next generation turn into, what will it be like, how will the new Adam and Eve live and love?
In this book, Atul Jalan tackles nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, quantum computing and genetics, seamlessly weaving the future of technology with the changing dynamics of human love, morality and ethics.

The Book “WHERE WILL MAN TAKE US?”  is a fictional book that talks about the journey of Man from cavemen to modern Homo Sapien. It talks about how we as humans have evolved not only biologically but also technologically. It talks about how Lucy’s descent was great for our ascent (Lucy is the world’s most early human ancestor and the first ever skeleton found).

This Book is all about the advancement modern humans have done in the field of technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Nanotechnology, Data, Blockchain technology and everything under the sun that involves tech.

The book talks about all these advancements and how we evolved from 3KB of memory to 464GB storage today. It talks about how we have managed to make Humanoids like Sophia and those times are not very far away when we would be charging our perfect partner before bed.

When I say that the book talks about science and its advancements, you might be wondering, it is some another school textbook. BUT, WAIT! It is not some old school book and when I say this, Believe me, I haven’t read such a questioning book about science before. I wish I had Science Books like this one in the School Curriculum.

WHY I LIKED THIS BOOK?

  • The book is not complicated and any non-science background person can also relate to the things talked about in the book.
  • I loved the way the Author has divided each and every Chapter into subsections as that makes the reading simplistic and fast.
  • Every Chapter is different from the other one as it explores new aspects Humans are adding to today’s world in terms of technology.
  • The author has really put in huge efforts in explaining such vast knowledge in a fun and intriguing manner.
  • The book is very smooth and light in its narration.
  • Also, there are endnotes if you want to know the references and want to explore the topic further.
  • I also loved some of the inquisitive lines in the book and I would be sharing them with you all.

If you want to gain information in an amusing manner, you can pick this book as it will not disappoint you at all and you will end up knowing a hell lot of things about science, technology, modern advancements and future of mankind.

The book is a complete Package in just 272 pages and will leave you in a total questioning state about “Where will Man take us?

Here are some of my favourite lines from the Book that I want to Quote:

Every age changes the pillars the previous age stood upon, kills a few gods and invent new ones.”

If the first man was clay, the new man will be data.”

When nature has work to be done, she creates a genious to do it.”

I am sure it must have been a classical physicist who said that atoms are never to be trusted. BECAUSE they make up everything.”

(ALSO A SPECIAL THANKS TO THE AUTHOR FOR TALKING ABOUT ALAN TURING & SHARING MORE INFORMATION ABOUT HIM AND ALSO TALKING ABOUT HOW ATKINSON STARTS HIS BOOK ON NANOTECHNOLOGY, Nanocosm, WITH QUOTE FROM INDIAN UPANISHADS.)

  1. This book sounds so interesting, Himani. My niece and her husband work in the technology field and I can barely understand them when they talk about what they do. Ha ha. Tech has advanced so much in the past thirty years, I can’t wait to see what it does in the next twenty. I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately and will have to pick this up. 🙂
